  • BE RESPECTFUL

That wasn't that hard was it?

GETTING STARTED:

  1. Register with the forum. ProBoards will guide you through this. Most personal information is not required, and you can change any mistakes you make after you've registered.
  2. Come up with a character. This might actually be the hardest part of playing, as the possiblities are endless. On this RPG you can truly live your fantasies.
  3. Submit your character in the approvals board in a new thread. An administrator will review it and probably approve him. Our main rule in building characters is that they should not be so powerful that interaction with them is silly and pointless. See below for Role-Playing Tips that will help you build an interesting and fun character who is guaranteed to be approved.
  4. Once your character is approved, feel free to post with him wherever and however seems to fit him. You may need to make an advertisement for threads in the Plot Discussion Board, or you may simply make an open-ended starting post and see who wants to join it.

About Our Method of Play:

There are a lot of RPGs out there with a lot of different methods of play. You quite possibly have used one or more of these systems. Ours is, for the most part, a forum system in which you and your fellow players are simply writing stories together using your characters' unique perspecitives. The format is simple: posts are written in the third person limited, using the posting player's character's perspective, and in the simple past tense. Thus, to have your character, Bob, draw his sword, you would write "Bob drew his sword." Naturally, most posts are much longer, as there isn't much one can write in response to a one-liner, but that's the basic concept. We do not use internet popular *asterisks* or ::double colons:: when "In Character" (IC), although they are perfectly acceptable "Out Of Character (OOC). The system's very simple in that: if you can read a novel in English, or write a school paper, even remotely, you can play easily here. In fact, you may even find your writing skills improving from the practice you will unknowingly achieve here!

You can find more tips and guidelines in the Notices section of the Forums. Please go there.
